Hi all,

I am working at the daily time scale and I have problems to delay the runoff. I think water available from rain of one day is only available for this precise day because the river streamflow is equal to 0 for non rainy days (with the FAO method).

So I want to delay the runoff on several days since the beginning day of the rain. I read the topic "How To "delay" The Flow" (2/13/2007) and I found a solution if using the soil moisture model. Because I don't have a lot of information on my cathchment, I prefer to use the FAO method. Does someone know if there is a solution to delay the runoff with this method ?

Thanks

Damien

Hi,

Have you tried to make an Expression by Expression builder?
you can write some sort of function to make a delay for runoff, but I am not pretty sure about daily simulation.
Just check all of functions and look at their examples.

Mehdi

Hi, thank you for your answer.

Unfortunately, I didn't find a useful function to delay runoff at a daily time scale. I think I will try to do it with the soil moisture method by calibrating parameters with PEST.

I have another question : in the soil moisture method, is it possible to directly enter ETref (as in FAO) or is it always calculated according to climate conditions (temperature, humidity, wind, cloudiness fraction ...) ?

Thanks

Damien
