Subject: Major New Version Of WEAP (3.3) Posted: 9/3/2012 Viewed: 26029 times
I am pleased to announce a major new version of WEAP, available now for download. Highlights include:
- Model the Water-Energy Nexus: Dynamic linkage to SEI's Long-range Energy Alternatives Planning (LEAP) system
- Wizard for modeling environmental flow requirements
- Wizard for exploring and importing time series data files (CSV)
- Calculations are faster and more robust
- Numerous other improvements, optimizations and bug fixes
You should be able to easily update your existing version of WEAP to this new version. When WEAP starts, it should find this update and offer to download and install it automatically. If not, go to the menu in WEAP: Help, Check on Internet for New Version. You can also download the full installation from http://www.weap21.org/Download and install it on top of your existing version--you do NOT need to uninstall the old version first.
There is a new chapter in the Tutorial ("Linking WEAP to LEAP," page 227) that covers linking to LEAP, SEI's energy planning modeling system: http://www.weap21.org/Tutorial There is also a video demonstration of the linkage: http://www.weap21.org/Video
Note: The online help includes information about the latest changes, but the PDF User Guide has NOT yet been updated. I will try to do that soon. http://www.weap21.org/UserGuide

I just posted a minor update, version 3.3001, which fixes a bug in the Copy and Rename functions of the Scenario Manager.
WEAP should automatically find and offer to download and install this update (or go to Help, Check for New Vesrion). If not, you can download WEAP from http://www.weap21.org/Download and install it on top of your existing version of WEAP (you do not need to uninstall the old version first).
