Hello,
I want to work a scenario about climate change in my model, and my model is mainly based on the local reservoirs. In WEAP tutorial, water year method is used for climate change but this method can affect on the rivers and river reservoirs. So, I want to know how climate change scenario can create to effect the local reservoirs, that are just connected with respective catchments. And then, is there any other specific method for climate change effect, for example, by using climate change data set or relating with climate change model?

Dear Zaw,
There are basically 2 ways to do this.
1. With the Water Year Method, as explained in the tutotial. But as you rightly wrote, this only impacts the flow in the rivers and if your reservoirs are not on these rivers then they won't be impacted by CC effects.
2. More sophisticated by doing hydrological modelling using the WEAP catchment object. There you have to use climate data to simulate the hydrology and you can directly use predictions for climate change to simulate the possible impact on the flows (e.g., a range of change in precipitation, in temperature etc). There are different hydrological models in WEAP for catchment object, please refer to the User Guide and the Hydrology chapter of the Tutorial. So in your case you would need to connect your catchment object to a river and then place your reservoir on the river to simulate impact of climate change on the reservoir. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: please pay attention to calibrate the hydrology of your catchment object (using historical data) before looking at future possible scenarios. Note that climate change also impacts on the Net Evaporation you have to enter for the Reservoir object, and maybe also on the Reservoir losses to groundwater...

Actually, it is possible to define the inflow to a "Local" (non-river) reservoir using the Water Year Method. See http://www.weap21.org/WebHelp/Local_Reservoir_Inflow.htm

Thank you very much for your effective help.
Now, I have a question about Ground water supply source. In my model, I need to put GW source but I have not enough data, so I used the simplest way and I can simulate my model.
But WEAP is just balancing the outflow and inflow of the GW source.
My idea is I want to show the initial storage is decreasing bcs of monthly withdrawal, however, WEAP is running without using the initial storage, just only using the inflow. If there is no enough inflow, outflow for demand is zero.
The result is showing like that. So, I would like to know how I can do and what input command I have to give.
