Subject: WEAP Results

Hi
when I try to calculate results in WEAP it gives results only for water demand for the years 2012-2030 but does not show any results about catchment sites (such as actual ET, potential ET) etc. even it does not give any information about reference ET Although I put all climatic parameters in csv format what should I do next to solve this ? Thank you |

Dear Sumra,
Once you have built catchments into your model, a catchment menu will appear in the main results dropdown menu in the Results section. "Catchments" will show up at the bottom between "Supply and Resources" and "Water Quality." That menu has many options, including ET Potential and ET Actual. Can you see it? |

i have one question more.I built the two catchments under the same climate conditions, when I run the model to calculate water demand for the years 2012-2030. WEAP gives same values upto 2030 for the reference scenario and it shows zero unmet demand. is it due to same climatic conditions or some other reasons?

Hi Sumra,
You can use catchments to both supply and demand water. Are you looking at unmet demands in the catchments themselves? |

yes stephanie actually WEAP shows same results for water requirement and water delivered for both catchments means zero unmet demand . but in actual there should be some unmet demand because both catchments lie in semi arid regions where surface water is not enough to fulfill the demand
so how i can fix this problem?? |

Dear Sumra,
Are the catchments drawing water from elsewhere as well (such as groundwater or a river?). If not, the parameters or the climate predictions, or both, are not accurate for your catchments, so they are producing too much water. If you are satisfied with your climate predictions, then you can start looking at the parameters and calibrate your model to make the water less available. Do you have data to use for the calibration in terms of water accessibility? |

thanks steohanie for your kind response.. both the catchments are drawing water from river and groundwater.I want to ask one question about calibration I took current account 2012 and run the model for 2013-2030 and I want to calibrate the model by using observed and modeled headflow for 2012. is it right way for calibration? if yes , which parameters I should adjust during calibration?

Do your catchments have land use categories? If so, you can adjust some of those parameters (such as kc, root zone conductivity, soil water capacity) as suits your needs.
