Dear WEAP Community,
In my model, I have many demand sites and many water sources. I am building a countrywide WEAP model. I connected the transmission links between demand sites and sources and also connected the transmission links between demand sites themselves to build a water network in order to get a water balance to cover the water supply for cities with insufficient water sources.
After running the model, I found no water supply (zero) in the transmission links between the demand sites.
Thus, would you please help me solve this issue or clarify why this has happened!

Hi Ahmed,
I suggest checking the Supply Preference on your transmission links--WEAP may be supplying the Demand Sites preferentially from the Sources/Rivers. Also, check the Outflow/Runoff/Return flows--if there's no water leaving the demand site (Ie Consumption is 100%), then they won't be able to supply water to another demand site.

Thank you very much for your reply. You have mentioned very important points. There is no water leaving the demand sites even to waste water treatment plants. Also, not all the demand sites consume 100%. What happens is that the transmission links supply only the amount of water that the demand site needs.
The question is how to make the transmission links takes all the available capacity in the water sources?
I think that this only can let the unconsumed water be returned.

You're right that WEAP will only supply the volume of water that the demand sites need.
A key thing to remember is that if Demand Site A's wastewater flows via transmission link to Demand Site B, A's priority must be higher than B's, so that by the time in the allocation algorithm is allocating water to B, A has already been allocated water and therefore has wastewater to give.
