Dear All, Could anyone tell me what is the best way of calibrating and validating WEAP, between the Parameter Estimator Tool (PEST) and WEAP model Inspector tool, and why? Thanks in advance.

The new version of WEAP (2022.0) can calculate calibration statistics, such as Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency, Percent Bias and r^2, comparing modeled results to historical data for streamflow, reservoir storage and catchment snow accumulation, to aid in model calibration.

See https://www.weap21.org/WebHelp/Calibration_Statistics.htm for more information.

For those wondering-

In general, the PEST calibration tool is built right into WEAP and is faster to learn and use. On the other hand, the Model Inspector tool has more features to compare run results.

To access model inspector, it is available under the description of the Youtube video lesson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn6MRbOTVA4&list=PLoJ3pxCzMP1uQRaimYV-wxJRRuIMNzdVU&index=13
