Hi,
I am a new WEAP user. And I will have to find the vertical temperature profile for some reservoirs under future conditions (Climate change). Does WEAP have a tool for that, or do I have to create a script in R and then put it into WEAP? Thank you so much! |

Dear Isabela,
WEAP does not have a built-in way to calculate and return a vertical temperature profile for reservoirs. Temperature in rivers is handled as a water quality parameter. Anne |

Dear Isabela,
Right now, WEAP does not have a built-in feature to calculate the vertical temperature profile in the reservoir. But it is possible to make a script. You have to consider that vertical temperature simulation needs a numerical solution using many input data which makes it a complicated script. Also, it needs to connect WEAP model variables like reservoir volume, Inflow, Outflow, Release elevation, inflow temperature, etc. Moreover, model calibration is so important. You need good data on the observed temperature in the reservoir. Good luck, Hossein |
