Dear All,

When I tried to delineate the basin and catchment for my case study area using the 'Automatic Catchment Delineation' method in WEAP, it started to delineate additional areas outside of my case study boundary. How can I restrict the delineation to cover only my case study area?

Thank you.

Selam

Selam,

When you drop a catchment onto your schematic in catchment delineation mode, imagine that a raindrop falls on that point. The rain drop will drain downstream until it hits the end of your Area Boundary (you may want to make a smaller boundary by right clicking on the schematic --> Set Area Boundary). Once the imaginary raindrop hits the edge of the Area Boundary, the catchment will be set as the entire drainage area that drains to this point, regardless of if the drainage area extends upstream of the boundary.

So that is how it sets the area. The recommendation would be to modify the Area Boundary.

Hope this helps.
