Hello everyone,
I was wondering if it's possible to simulate rainwater harvesting in a watershed, and use the collected water to irrigate crops. I'm using the soil moisture method. Could you please help me with this? Thank you very much!

Nicole,

The clearest way I could think of would be to use a separate catchment for your surface area where you are collecting rainwater. Then, route the surface runoff link for this catchment to a reservoir and connect the reservoir to any demands or catchments using the water for irrigation.

Alternatively, you could use multiple runoff links from a single catchment, and set the routing inputs of the link capturing the rainwater to send to a reservoir to send a specified proportion of the total runoff.

Hope this helps!

Thank you, Doug! That makes a lot of sense. I’ll give it a try!
