I'm a first time user of WEAP and hoping to use it on hydro power project in the near future. For now I'm using the free version to gauge it's potential. I made the mistake of giving the software a location on my google drive for saving the model setup, but google then immediately syncs all 900 odd files! I thought that uninstalling and re-installing would correct this, but the new installation defaults to the previous google drive path. Is there any way of forcing the installation to ask me afresh for a path?

Regards, Mark

To change the location of the WEAP Areas Folder, you have to edit the Windows Registry. Exit WEAP, then run REGEDIT and look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stockholm Environment Institute\WEAP\AreasPath. The WEAP Areas folder path is stored as data associated with the directory where WEAP in installed. For example, if WEAP is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\WEAP, this path will be the "Name" column, and the Areas Folder will be in the "Data" column. Double click the Name column to edit the Data. The best place to put it is under your Documents folder, e.g., C:\Users\\Documents\WEAP Areas\ After you make this change, you will need to move all the directories from the old location to the new location.

Hello Jack,

It worked perfectly. Thanks. One thing, I had to re-register WEAP after changing the path of Areas Directory. But was not a problem.
