Hi WEAP users and programmers,

Does WEAP assumes an average productivity for the hydropower plants or the hidroelectricity generation varies depending on the water level?

I know my HPP produces 0.051-0.074 kWh/m³ for 20-100% storage volume, respectively. How can I incorporate this information in my model?

Thank you!

Érica

Dear Érica,
In the Data View, you can enter a value for Tailwater Elevation of your reservoir. This allows WEAP to calculate the working head and determine power generation accordingly. Hopefully, entering this value will produce kWh/m3 values that match your data. If not, you may need to play with it a bit to calibrate the model to your reality.

Best,
Anne
